WIT Inaugural Mother-Daughter Brunch: It Takes a Village to Raise a Child

March 12, 2022 @ 10:00AM — 12:00PM Central Time (US & Canada)

The Inaugural WIT Mother-Daughter Brunch will be an exciting morning of music, spoken word and dance to honor the village of women who have been a positive and loving influence in the lives of our girls and young women. During this International Women's Day activity, we will also highlight the WIT Young Leaders in the first WIT Leadership Development Circle cohort, with special focus on our graduating high school seniors. Confirmed speakers include Alabama State Representative Rolanda Hollis and judges--who also happen to be sisters--Honorable Samarria Dunson and Honorable Lloria James! Joining us virtually from Geneva, Switzerland, will be Charlotte Le Flufy, Global Brand Director, Always Social Impact, Procter & Gamble. Our very own Alabama News Network personality, Ellis Eskew, will MC the brunch! Ashley Jones, Alabama's Poet Laureate, will perform, as well as students from BTW Magnet High School. Proceeds raised at this event will support the WITKITS Campaign to provide bags of menstrual and hygiene supplies each month to 500 families in need. Since its founding in July 2019 by 12-year-old twin sisters, Breanna and Brooke Bennett, Women in Training, Inc. has distributed more than 10,000 WITKITS to people who menstruate. We would love to see you on this wonderful occasion! Please bring your mother, daughter, mother figure, mentor or mentee! Come join us in our quest to End Poverty. PERIOD!
